The Comox Valley RV Half Marathon offers one of the fastest courses in Western Canada. A beautiful, rural out-and-back route that takes in views of Mount Washington, Forbidden Plateau, and the Tsolum and Puntledge Rivers. In addition to fast times, the race is known for its’ great organization, tasty post-race food and lots of great draw prizes.
The Comox Valley RV Half Marathon has a history dating back to 1986 when it was a 20-kilometre race. Then, in 1995, it was extended to its current 21.1k half marathon configuration. Some legendary names have won the event over the years including five-time Royal Victoria Marathon winner Kelvin Broad, and Olympians Mike Creery, Jon Brown and Simon Whitfield. A number of national and provincial records have also been set here.
The Comox Valley RV Half Marathon offers participants the opportunity to run on a beautiful country road course. Runners will enjoy the small-community spirit and hospitality of the Comox Valley. Course and conditions are set to run fast. What more could you ask for?
The Comox Valley RV Half Marathon offers a BC Athletics-certified out-and-back course. The course climbs in the first half, then descends on the return. The result is often very significant negative splits – and fast times. The course rewards runners who show patience in the first half and then are ready to push hard in the second half.
Over 100 volunteers from the Comox Valley RV Road Runners (CVRR) work diligently in the months leading up to the race, and on race day, to deliver an experience that we hope every runner will love. From pre-race, to race, to post-race, we strive to deliver the best experience possible.
Our post-race food and awards event are known for being top-notch. We pride ourselves in delivering abundant, delicious and nutritious food options post-race. We strive to recognize and celebrate the achievements of a wide range of runners through our awards and generous draw prizes.
